Yesterday I was completely ready to head out the door. I had on nice capris, great earrings and my hair was actually done. I was actually just using the bathroom before I left when I got the call.

“Hi, just wanted to let you know we won’t be able to meet you at 5:00 pm today, we planned to go out. See you Monday.”

Well, if you planned to go out why didn’t you tell me this sooner?

I really do like tutoring, but I have not gotten paid for a week. That, and I know I need a job for the upcoming winter months – one that isn’t too strenuous or takes up too much time – and I know tutoring is perfect. It’s just hard to find people to tutor, especially during the school year. I think I’m going to stop by the Sylvan Learning Center, see if they have anything for me.

My mother says getting jobs is entirely dependent on who you know. She says most people get jobs because they have connections. Well, I have no connections to offer. I’m selling myself as a caring, concerned and fun English and Spanish tutor. So far that has snagged in exactly one person. I am on the verge of making business cards for myself and posting them everywhere.

Not even Jewel hired me. How sad is that?

Today we are celebrating my dads birthday. This comes as quite a surprise to me as I thought we’d be celebrating it next weekend (his birthday is the 23rd), but it’s all good. Now I just have to think up a present…and fast!

Yesterday I hung out at a friends house and we made cookies, played card games, and swam in her pool. I swam a lot today, too. My skin is at least 5 shades darker from what it was this morning. I wish it could be summer all year round.

We’re going out to Big Bowl now, and then David, my little brother and I are going to see Dark Knight at 5:30. Fun Friday :) . I’m going to see if perhaps I can sneak into Mama Mia while the boys are in Dark Knight…then again, perhaps I should wait to see Mama Mia with my mother (we’re both Abba fans).
